For those of you who do not know what the World Language Club is, it is a club that aims to celebrate the diverse cultures here at West Side! It allows students to learn about world languages and cultures and engage in fun festivities. In February, the World Language Club was awarded a $300 grant from The West Springfield Partnership for Education, which Sra. García applied to make a Terrier Peace Flag, representing all the languages spoken in our school. The flag project, inspired by the Peace Movement, took several weeks to make and led to many challenges in terms of format and deadlines, but everything went smoothly. A draft was showcased at the History and Heritage Fair on March 13, 2025, and after some adjustments, the final flag was printed and received in April. We’re also planning a contest to win a mini Terrier Peace Flag at West Springfield High School, with the date to be announced. We hope you’ll participate!
