Rushing to my window to see the sight
Of the streets covered with a coat of white
The crunch of my steps as I enjoy the view
8 inches and no school, a dream come true
With gloves and a scarf to stay warm
Thank god for the blessing of a snowstorm
Catching flakes with my tongue and throwing balls of white
My hands go numb, but it feels so right
The night grows dark, and the snow dies down
I can’t wait for it again for another year around
As I close my eyes and the breeze hits my face
I hear the snow hit harder as it picks up pace
I boil over with excitement and run with snow in sight
I can’t wait for another white night.
